With over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health, and another 10 beyond that in child development and care, I realize that life happens in many forms, with everyone experiencing and perceiving it differently. I see everyone as an individual whose shoes I can never walk in, but hopefully I can support and walk beside for a time. I bring much experience working with children, youth, adults, and their families. Through holding a therapeutic relationship and counselling, I believe I can support clients in moving beyond a difficult time in life.
I use a cognitive behavioural and solution focused approach for much of my work, along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. However, the population that I work with requires me to be eclectic in approach in such a way that I am able to match their needs with tools, strategies and ways of thinking that are new assets to my clients. I am recently the recipient of a cochlear implant after a few years of deafness in my left ear, as well as having Meniere’s Disease and Tinnitus (I have the life experience too!)
I am a member in good standing as an RECE with The College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario, and a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

In practice since 2005, Laura’s interest in massage therapy started from a background in martial arts, dance, and synchronized swimming. It was strongly nudged by a car accident that caused extended problems with her neck, throat, and hearing. She has focused her training on modalities and techniques to help address issues in those areas including the less considered impact of how your feet affect the rest of your body. Her training addresses primary and underlying issues that bring people in for treatment. It tends toward therapeutic and rehabilitative treatments whether that is deeper tissue work or more subtle techniques to help unwind longstanding fascial issues. She has extended training in a wide variety of skill sets including general massage, myofascial unwinding, cranial sacral therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage, and Thai massage. Her goal is to help your overall health and wellbeing. She is interested in doing what is best for your body.
Laura has taught massage therapy for 12 years and has worked in a wide variety of settings from high end spa’s to hospital settings.
